Canelo: I Wasn't 100 Percent Against Bivol, But I'm Not Looking For Excuses
JAKARTA - One of the most frequently asked questions of Canelo Alvarez is about the rematch against Dmitry Bivol.
The Mexican admits he will find a way to rematch, but he wants to finish the trilogy against Gennady Golovkin first.
In an interview with the media, Canelo talked about everything. Including the matter of his defeat of Bivol some time ago.
Canelo's second career defeat came on May 7 in Las Vegas when he lost to Bivol by unanimous decision: 115-113, 115-113 and 115-113.
The result was very painful for Canelo's camp. But, the Mexican boxer tried to convince, he was not in the best condition when fighting against Bivol.
"I didn't arrive well. At 100 per cent I should have won," Canelo said in an interview with the You Tube channel No Puedes Jugar Boxeo.
"A lot of things happen that people don't know, that I don't need to tell them because then they start making excuses and I don't want them to see it. I was like that."
"So like I said: I lost, it was my turn to lose and that's how you have to accept it, you have to move on and now, the rematch is coming," said Canelo.
Meanwhile, in the press conference of his fight with Golovkin, Canelo boasted that he would bring down the Kazhkstan boxer.
"He always pretends he's a nice guy in front of everyone, but he's an asshole, that's how he is. By knockout. That's the only way I want to end this rivalry." Canelo said.
Unlike the redhead, GGG (Triple G) - Golovkin's nickname - is calmer and always respects his opponent
"If it's personal for him or personal for his team, ask why. I don't think it's a personal problem. But I can assure you, it's his problem and not mine. This is sport," said Golovkin.
Canelo Vs Golovkin volume three will take place on September 17 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
