Puan Maharani Opens Up: I Have Not Been Appointed To Be A Presidential Candidate, There Are No Signs Yet
JAKARTA - PDI-P DPP chairman Puan Maharani admits that there is no sign that she will be appointed as a presidential candidate from the party bearing the white bull symbol.
"(I) have not been appointed, there are no signs either," said Puan on the sidelines of the Nusantara Fish Grill Festival, Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) Senayan, Jakarta, Saturday, June 25, quoted from Antara.
The appointment of a presidential candidate is the prerogative of the General Chairperson of the PDI-P DPP Megawati Soekarnoputri. This is also the result of the PDI-P's Second National Working Meeting in 2021 so that all cadres wait for Megawati's decision regarding the presidential and vice presidential candidates.
Likewise, regarding the issue of the chairman of the DPR RI being "married" with the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, there has also been no sign from the PDI-P.
"At the National Working Meeting, it was stated that the prerogative of determining the presidential and vice presidential candidates for the PDI-P is the prerogative of the General Chairwoman," he stressed.
He also asked all parties to wait for an official decision from Megawati regarding the PDI-P's presidential and vice presidential candidates.
"We'll just have to wait and see how it will be calculated and how Megawati will decide," said Puan.
