Police Have Examined 6 Witnesses Regarding The Circulation Of Free Alcoholic Drinks E-Flyer For Owners Of Muhammad And Maria Nama
JAKARTA - The South Jakarta Metro Police are following up on cases of alleged blasphemy related to the circulation of an e-flyer promoting drinks using the names "Muhammad" and "Maria" at Holywings.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Ridwan Soplanit, said that so far his party had examined several people from Holywings Management to find out what really happened.
"Yes, that's right, it's still in the process, yes, six witnesses," said Ridwan when confirmed, Friday, June 24.
Ridwan said, his party was following up on this case after the promotion of the liquor circulated on social media.
"Yes, we will immediately (check), we will monitor it through the news," he said.
Ridwan said, the six people being examined were from the creative team to the poster designer.
"They are actually still part of the creative team, from the director to the design," he concluded.
Previously, an e-flyer promoting free alcoholic beverages for those with the names “Muhammad” and “Maria” circulated on social media.
The promotion made by Holywings has caused criticism from various parties, especially from religious organizations, because it is considered a blasphemy of religion. Because some people think the name Muhammad is synonymous with Muslims, who in fact forbid alcohol.
However, Holywings has apologized to the public for the incident.
