Spreading Opinions About Legal Mafia At KPK After Suspect, Mardani Maming Assesses Possibility Of Submitting Pretrial
JAKARTA - Mardani H. Maming's attorney, Ahmad Irawan, said that his party was reviewing the possibility of filing a pretrial.
This application will be made after the former Regent of Tanah Bumbu was named a suspect in connection with the alleged application for a mining permit by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
"It is being studied and prepared, including the pretrial effort," said Ahmad Irawan when contacted by VOI, Friday, June 24.
Ahmad said this legal action would be taken. Moreover, Mardani previously called himself a victim of the legal mafia. "God willing, we will take legal action," he said. "We are optimizing the existing legal space," Ahmad added.
As previously reported, Mardani H. Maming admitted that he was a victim of the legal mafia after being named a suspect by the KPK. Related to this, the Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK Karyoto invited the General Treasurer of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board to propose other legal remedies.
"If the time concerned does not accept it, there is an institution, pretrial, etc., please. So, we are not too concerned with things like that," said Karyoto.
Karyoto also reminded law enforcement not to respond with irresponsible opinions.
"The law is not with opinions, the law is please discussed with the facts and there is also a channel. Through the judiciary, pretrial and others because of the rights of a witness, a suspect will be protected by law," he stressed.
