KPK Doesn't Care About Mardani Maming's Allegation About The Legal Mafia In His Case
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) asserts that it does not care about the statement from the General Treasurer of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board, Mardani H Maming, who alleges that there is a legal mafia behind the case that ensnared him.
"We will not comment at length, this, this, there is a mafia and others. How dare the KPK be asked by the mafia, which mafia, don't accuse it," said Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Karyoto, at the KPK building, Jakarta, Thursday. , June 23.
He emphasized that the KPK in handling a case is based on the adequacy of evidence.
"Whatever the story, if there is a certain power to endorse a case if there is not enough evidence and no facts, how can we dare. That is what should be noted and please note it," said Karyoto.
In addition, continued Karyoto, the KPK also invited Mardani, who is also the General Chair of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) to take legal action through pretrial if he felt he was not involved with the case.
"Later, if the time concerned does not accept it, there is an institution, pretrial, etc. please. So, we are not too concerned with things like that," he said.
Karyoto also reminded law enforcement not to respond with irresponsible opinions.
"The law is not based on opinions, please discuss the law with facts and there are channels. Through the judiciary, pretrial and others, because of the rights of a witness, a suspect will be protected by law," Karyoto said as quoted by Antara.
Previously, Mardani felt he was criminalized after being reported as a suspect and was also prevented from going abroad.
"This country must not lose to the legal mafia, young people must unite against all of this. Today it is my turn to be criminalized, what will come it could be your turn, many have been victims but all the media are silent. We must save the country, don't let the legal mafia controlling and holding everyone hostage," said Mardani in a statement on Monday (20/6).
