Laundry Employee In Cipayung, East Jakarta, Admits He Often Becomes A Victim Of Theft, But Still Doesn't Want To Report It To The Police
JAKARTA - Ahmad Nurkholis had bad luck. The laundry keeper in the Rawabinong area, Lubang Buaya, Cipayung District, East Jakarta lost his cellphone when he fell asleep at the kiosk.
The theft was caught on a CCTV camera at the scene. In the video footage, it can be seen that the two perpetrators came on a motorbike. One of the perpetrators got off the motorbike and seemed to be watching the situation outside the laundry.
After the situation was deemed safe enough, the perpetrator immediately entered the room while sneaking. The perpetrator saw the victim's cellphone which was being charged. Even though the cellphone was right next to Nurkholis.
"I was sleeping, when I woke up there was no cellphone. The cellphone was being charged beside," Nurkholis told reporters, Wednesday, June 22.
Successfully retrieving the stolen goods, the perpetrator immediately fled on his motorbike. The new victim a few minutes later. He realized his cell phone was not there.
Out of curiosity, Nurkholis opened the CCTV footage. As a result, two men clearly entered the laundry kiosk and took their belongings.
"The perpetrators were two men, not laundry customers. The cellphone that was lost was the Realme brand. One cellphone was stolen," he said.
Despite being a victim of a crime, Nurkholis is reluctant to make a report to the police. In fact, he realized that his area was classified as prone to theft crimes.
"Haven't made a report yet. (incidents) Often, in the past, I have lost a tab-type cell phone," he said.
