Slum Areas In South Jakarta Will Be Reorganized By The Government

JAKARTA - As many as 90 community units (RW) in 10 sub-districts in South Jakarta will be reorganized until the end of 2022. This is done to make the environment that initially looked slum, become better and healthier.

Head of the South Jakarta Public Housing and Settlement Area (PRKP) Sub-Department, Imam Bahri said this arrangement was a continuation program from the previous year.

"The arrangement of 90 slum RWs in South Jakarta in 2022 is a continuation of the program in the previous year and is the result of the Musrenbang," Imam told reporters, Wednesday, June 22.

Imam said that previously he had made arrangements in the three Community Action Plan (CAP) areas that had been budgeted last year.

The three areas are Mangosteen Market, Menteng Atas and Pela Mampang.

Through data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Imam continued, 90 RWs that were considered slums in South Jakarta were selected for repairs.

"We don't go into the private area but into the access road that is being fixed," he said.

When asked how much budget was prepared for the arrangement of 90 slum RWs, Imam admitted that he did not really know about it. However, he claimed that the budget would be disbursed until the end of 2022.

"I forgot the budget, I'll try to check later. I asked the service first, but they said at the end of this year," he concluded.
