NU Figures Ask PDIP Politician Mardani Maming To Be Non-active From PBNU After Becoming A KPK Suspect

JAKARTA - PBNU General Treasurer (Bendum) Mardani H. Maming has been named a suspect by the KPK. PBNU administrator Nadirsyah Hosen invited the KPK to investigate the case involving the former Regent of Tanah Bumbu.

He hopes that Maming's status will not affect NU's century of NU in February 2023, whose series of activities have been held this year.

Nadir said PBNU would not hinder the steps of the KPK investigators in tracing the case involving Maming. Facing legal action, Nadir also invited Maming to defend himself according to the law as the suspect's right.

Nadir also asked Maming to leave his temporary position at PBNU so that he could focus on dealing with the legal issues being handled by the KPK. This is in accordance with the marwah of the NU religious organization.

"But it's better if PBNU is not active first to maintain the dignity of the jam'iyah and the community," he said.

Maming was named a suspect after being questioned by the KPK regarding the case with the owner of PT Jhonlin Group, Samsudin Andi Arsyad alias Haji Isam.

In the alleged bribery case for a mining business permit in Tanah Bumbu Regency, the name of Maming was once mentioned as the younger brother of former President Director of PT Prolindo Cipta Nusantara (PCN) Henry Soetio, Christian Soetio.

In the trial at the Corruption Court, Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, Maming was said to have received Rp89 billion in cash.

At that time, Christian admitted that he knew about the flow of funds to Mardani H Maming through PT Permata Abadi Raya (PAR) and PT Trans Surya Perkasa (TSP).

The money transfer has been going on since 2014. The amount of tens of billions of rupiah is referred to as the amount quoted based on PT PCN's financial statements.
