Failed To Maintain A Podium Position In The German MotoGP, Aleix Espargaro The Scapegoat For Ban
JAKARTA - Aprilia Racing racer, Aleix Espargaro, actually set a target to be able to reach the podium in the 19th series of MotoGP 2022 at the Sachsenring Circuit, Germany, Sunday, June 19. However, this ambition could not be realized.
Aleix Espargaro, who struggled to maintain his podium position until the race had three laps remaining, had to settle for finishing in fourth position. He had to be willing to take the third position for the Ducati rider, Jack Miller.
Aleix Espargaro said there was a problem with his motorbike. The front tire that has been disturbed after being replaced, creates vibrations on the motorbike so that performance cannot be maximized.
"After changing the front tire on the grid, I noticed a strong vibration in the front. This was very annoying because I didn't have time to change the tire. Then the tire seemed to jump," said Espargaro, quoted by Speedweek.
The situation made Espargaro emotional. He admitted that he was disappointed with the problems that arose. He said that this problem was not only experienced by him, but also by the Suzuki rider, Joan Mir.
"This happened to seven riders on Friday and Saturday to Joan Mir. I've never had this problem before, the tires are always perfect," he said.
"Now it's amazing, in the first six or seven laps I can still accept it well especially the new rear tyre, but after that it's been impossible."
"I was surprised that I was able to get on the podium with these problems. During the race I thought several times about giving up. At least this is enough to be in fourth place, but actually we have the potential to finish in second place," said Espargaro explaining.
With the results in the German MotoGP, Aleix Espargaro failed to approach Fabio Quartararo, the Yamaha rider who now leads the standings. The Spaniard earned 138 points, 34 points adrift of Quartararo.
