Good News From The Ministry Of PUPR, They Build Integrated Infrastructure Worth IDR 2.27 Trillion In The Borobudur Tourism Area
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing is building an integrated and sustainable infrastructure in the Borobudur tourism area, Central Java, through 42 work packages worth IDR 2.27 trillion for the 2020-2022 period.
PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said his party supports the Development of the Borobudur National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN)/Super Priority Tourism Area (DPSP) through the construction of water resources infrastructure, roads and bridges, settlements, and housing. This is also in line with efforts to preserve the Borobudur area as a World Heritage Site.
Of the 42 work packages, there are 25 completed activities, 16 ongoing activities and 1 activity in preparation.
Spokesperson for the PUPR Ministry, Endra S. Atmawidjaja, detailed the infrastructure developments that have been completed, including in the field of water resources, namely the provision of raw water for the Borobudur and Prambanan areas, the construction of the Opak River groundsill and the arrangement of the Borobudur Area KSPN.
Furthermore, the construction that has been completed in the field of roads and bridges is the construction of the Kali Progo bridge, the rehabilitation of the Borobudur KSPN road, the preservation of the Keprekan - Borobudur road, the preservation of the Pringsurat - Secang - Keprekan road, the Keprekan - Muntilan - Salam (Bts. DIY) road, the Yogyakarta road - Tempel-Pakem-Prambanan, and Jalan Sentolo - Nanggulan - Dekso.
"In the housing sector, the Reuse, Reduce, and Recycle Waste Management Program (TPS 3R) of the Borobudur KSPN, the Development of the Borobudur KSPN, the Klangon Gate, Kulon Progo Regency, the Construction of the SPAM Piping Network Supports the Borobudur KSPN and the Settlement of the Borobudur KSPN Residential Area," said Endra, quoted from Antara, Monday 20 June.
In the housing sector, the Ministry of PUPR has developed Residential Facilities Supporting Tourism Areas (Sarhunta) through a program to improve the quality of self-help housing.
There are 821 houses that have received Sarhunta's assistance. The assistance is in the form of improving the quality of houses with homestay functions and other tourism businesses for 382 housing units in 15 villages. Then assistance for improving the quality of self-help houses without a business function for 439 housing units in four villages.
Infrastructure development that is currently in the completion stage includes the construction of flood control facilities in the YIA strategic area in the Serang watershed with a progress of 50.7 percent, construction of flood control facilities for the Bogowonto River (52 percent), safety for the estuary of the Bogowonto River on the West Side (70 percent), security the East Side of the Bogowonto river estuary (89.5 percent), and an increase in the capacity of the Piyungan Regional TPA (98.8 percent).
Endra said the PUPR Ministry planned several works for the arrangement of the area and waste in the Borobudur area.
For the arrangement of the area, it is planned to arrange the Borobudur Art Village in Kujon as well as the construction of bridges and pedestrian paths along the Progo River, landscape and facade arrangements in the Palbapang corridor (Jl. Mayor Kusen).
"Essentially, we want to organize and improve the quality of the Borobudur area as well as possible according to the principles of sustainable world heritage site preservation," said Endra.
