Operational staff of the Bengkulu Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), Malik in Bengkulu, said that the earthquake occurred at 4.93 South Latitude, 102.98 West Southeast, or centered on 43 kilometers southwest of Kaur Regency, Bengkulu Province with a depth of 26 kilometers. at 18.22 WIB in Kaur Regency and there is no potential for a tsunami to occur," Malik said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, June 18. He asked the people of Bengkulu Province to remain careful because there is a possibility of aftershocks.
However, the aftershocks that are likely to occur are usually no greater in strength than the main earthquake.
