JAKARTA – Artist Butet Kartaredjasa appreciates the government for being able to handle the COVID-19 pandemic so that art performances can now be held again.

"After two years of being down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are finally back to doing cultural worship. Confirming our Indonesianness," Butet told Antara, at the opening of the play "Tamu Agung" at the Ciputra Artpreneur Theater, South Jakarta, Friday night, June 17. .

"I am very grateful for the condition of Indonesia, especially Jakarta, which has begun to recover successfully from the pandemic situation and because of that it has relaxed the regulations related to performing arts. us to greet the people of Jakarta again," he continued.

Not only that, Butet is also grateful because now the show is being assisted by BUMN. Therefore, he also feels that the state is also present in the "Great Guest" show.

"Different from our previous Indonesia, this time the place is different. We started at Ciputra Artpreneur. So I'm grateful that this time the show really feels like the state is present. Because SOEs are helping," said Butet.

"We are carrying out cultural worship in a situation leading to 2024. An inspiring situation. It really provokes us to make cool works towards 2024. 'Tamu Agung' is our common inspiration for our collective control to continue to strengthen our Indonesianness ," he added.
