Abdul Somad Admits He Has A Political Contract With The Mayor To The Governor, Who?

JAKARTA - Lecturer Ustaz Abdul Somad admits that he has a role in a number of figures currently serving as mayors and governors in Indonesia that he supports.

This was stated by Abdul Somad when giving a virtual teleconference speech at the national gathering and national meeting of the Indonesian Middle East Alumni Association (JATTI) at the Grand Cempaka Hotel, Central Jakarta.

"My opinions support political people, so he sits as mayor, in several places, I support being governor," said Abdul Somad, Friday, June 17.

In fact, Abdul Somad admitted that he had political contracts with a number of figures who currently serve as mayors to governors.

The political contract in question is a form of support when the regional head is running for office. Then, if elected, the mayor and governor who are supported will build schools to houses of worship. However, Abdul Somad did not mention who the mayor and governor he meant.

"If those we support are mayors or governors, of course there is a political contract. After being elected, he builds a tahfidz Al-Qur'an school, a house of the Qur'an, congregational prayers are obligatory, then Baznas is turned on," said Abdul Somad.

According to Abdul Somad, it is not a problem if the preacher gives support to political figures. He gave an example that this was done by Sheikh Abdurrauf As-Singkili who is the mufti of the Kingdom of Aceh and Sheikh Muhamad Arsyad who is the mufti of the Kingdom of Banjar.

"The difference is that they are colored by power, not that they are colored by power. What is worried is that we are colored by power," he said.

For information, the event held by JATTI was attended by a number of political figures, including the 6th and 10th Vice Presidents of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla, the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan, the Mayor of Depok, Mohammad Idris, to the Deputy Chair of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly from the Gerindra faction, Ahmad Muzani. .
