Postponed By A Day, Matraman Station Trial Starts Tomorrow
JAKARTA - The construction of Matraman Station has been completed. Starting Friday, June 17 tomorrow, KAI Commuter, DJKA Kemenhub, and PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta will test the operation of Matraman Station. The implementation of this trial was delayed one day from the previous plan today.
It is predicted that Matraman Station will serve an average of 2,203 users per day, with a prediction of 1,100 users increasing and 1,103 decreasing users.
"The Matraman Shelter Station is expected to be able to serve KRL users around the Matraman road area and the Kampung Melayu area," said VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter Anne Purba in her statement, Thursday, June 16.
Anne said, Matraman Station is located right at Km 1 +400 crossing between Jatinegara - Manggarai Station. He emphasized that Matraman Station is a station that only serves up and down KRL users.
"This Shelter Station is not a train travel arrangement station such as Jatinegara Station or Manggarai Station. Because of this function, the station is a Shelter Station," he said.
Anne claimed that the location of Matraman Station is very strategic, the east side of the Shelter Station is directly connected to Jalan Raya Matraman, East Jakarta and is integrated with the Trans Jakarta Corridor 5 bus stop so that it will make it easier for KRL users to continue their journey using other modes of transportation.
"It is hoped that with the construction of railway infrastructure in the form of a Shelter Station, services for the public using trains, especially KRL users, will be more comfortable and make it easier to use rail transportation," said Anne.
For information, Matraman Station itself is a continuation of the government's strategic project in the development of Railway Infrastructure, namely the Double-Double Track (DDT) on the Manggarai - Cikarang route, which began in 2016.
The ground floor area of Matraman Station is as a user service area and the 1st floor as a KRL waiting platform area. Facilities on the ground floor consist of counters, electronic doors to enter and exit the station area, male/female toilets and disabled toilets, prayer room, health room, station staff room, and left behind goods service room, as well as other user service areas.
Then, the first floor of Matraman Station with an area of 588 M² is used as a platform as a waiting place for KRL rides on line 1 and line 2. Matraman Station is equipped with manual stairs, escalator and elevator facilities for priority passengers, as well as parking for motorized vehicles.
