Attracting Singaporean Entrepreneurs, Sri Mulyani Affirms Government's Commitment To Equalize Development
JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani said the government has a strong commitment to continue to create equity throughout Indonesia.
According to him, evidence of this is the construction of the State Capital (IKN), the Trans-Sumatra toll road and the construction of food estates outside Java.
"This effort is also one of our ways to create not only added economic value, but also equity that does not only focus on the island of Java," he said in a press statement when attending an activity at the Indonesia-Singapore Business Forum, Wednesday, June 15.
According to the Minister of Finance, Indonesia is a developing country that has a sizeable economy in the ranks of the G20 countries.
In fact, Indonesia is the country with the largest economy at the ASEAN level.
"This is an opportunity for us to be able to make Indonesia a destination for development as well as investment for business actors at home and abroad," he said.
To support this, the government is said to have carried out various kinds of socialization and communication regarding the direction of development.
"Of course in the context of our goal to continue to maintain the sustainability of the economic recovery which for the last three years has been very dependent on the state budget," he said.
Furthermore, the state treasurer explained that at this time the recovery process had begun, which was marked by the high mobility of the people, activities, consumption and investment began to run, and export activities also began to increase.
"So that our APBN can begin to share roles with the public and the private sector, both from within and outside the country," closed the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani.
