BNPT's Strategy To Suppress Radical Groups, Multiply Positive Narratives In Public Spaces
JAKARTA - The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) invites the public to spread positive narratives in public spaces to suppress the movement of radical groups.
"BNPT partners need to continue to be invited to convey messages of peace and unity in the community," said the Head of BNPT, Commissioner General of Police Boy Rafli Amar, in a written statement received in Jakarta, Wednesday, June 15, quoted from Antara.
The spread of positive narratives can narrow the space for radical groups who have been using the public space a lot. "We must be proactive, we must be able to find opportunities to foster and embrace deradicalization partners through existing programs," he said.
In addition to participating in voicing peace narratives, the community and BNPT partners are also encouraged to accommodate various community aspirations related to counter-terrorism.
"As a public body, BNPT will continue to strive to improve organizational governance. The goal is to make the process of preventing terrorism from upstream to downstream to be better," he said.
He added that currently BNPT continues to strengthen synergies with policy makers, and the wider community so that all parties contribute to countering terrorism in Indonesia. "The synergy of all parties is very important to narrow the radical groups that continue to undermine the Pancasila ideology," he said.
Finally, he invites all elements of society to continue to strengthen synergies, especially with the ranks of ministries/agencies in determining programs or future follow-ups.
"We make activities that involve the wider community and invite BNPT partners," he said.
