Liverpool's Prospective New Player Darwin Nunez Is Called The Edinson Cavani-Luis Suarez Mix
JAKARTA - Benfica's Darwin Nunez is reportedly soon joining the English Premier League club, Liverpool. The player only needs to undergo a medical test after the two clubs have found an agreement on the transfer value.
Many believe, Darwin Nunez will be successful in the Premier League. One of them is a former Fulham player who is now defending Benfica, Adel Taarabat.
He called Nunez a player with a machine-like appearance and that would see him score a lot of goals in the Premier League.
"He (Darwin Nunez) helps the team a lot. He works very hard, he is fit, if you look at his body, he is a real athlete, he is a machine, so for me in the Premier League he will definitely score goals," Taarabt was quoted as saying by Talksport. .
Nunez's performance does not need to be doubted. In his second season with Benfica, the 22-year-old scored 34 goals.
Six of them managed to attract attention because they were created during a match in the Champions League against three of Europe's biggest teams.
"Last season when Benfica bought him from Almeria, no one really knew him but it was already a huge fee, a lot of people were surprised," said Taarabt.
"But when we saw him in the first training, we understood that he would be one of the best strikers in the world."
Taarabt rate, Nunez does have the mentality of a Latin American player. He even said, Nunez is a combination of Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani, Uruguay's two deadly strikers.
"He has a South American mentality, he likes to win, he is a winner, he fights, he is very very fast and also strong."
