Solo Mayor: COVID-19 Cases Rise, Central Government Asks Regions To Boost Vaccinations

SOLO - Deputy Mayor of Surakarta Teguh Prakosa said the central government asked the regions to boost booster vaccinations amid an increase in COVID-19 cases in the country.

"Earlier, what Mr. Luhut said was related to booster vaccination in Central Java, which is still low, if Solo is 58 percent, it is for the elderly," said Teguh after attending an online meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Handling COVID-19 and National Economic Recovery Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan in Solo. quoted by Antara, Saturday, June 11.

Meanwhile, he said, based on data from the Surakarta City COVID-19 Handling Task Force, the rate of COVID-19 cases in Solo was still relatively sloping or low. As of Saturday (11/6) the number of active COVID-19 cases in Solo was six people.

Of the total cases, four of them are self-isolating and two others are being treated in hospital.

"The point is that all of our COVID-19 has gone down, especially Java-Bali. Indeed, in Bali, with the case in Singapore, there appeared positive foreigners, but it was OTG (people without symptoms).
