Tens Of Thousands Of Houses In Karawang Are Unfit For Habitation
KARAWANG - Tens of thousands of housing units spread across a number of areas in Karawang Regency, West Java, are still categorized as uninhabitable houses (rutilahu).
“We want all our routines to be fixed. This is a priority," said local Deputy Regent Aep Syaepuloh, quoted by Antara, Saturday, June 11.
According to data from the PUPR Service (People's Housing and Settlement Areas), around 40 thousand houses in Karawang need to be repaired.
The Karawang Regency Government through the PUPR Service always carries out routine repairs every year.
This year, the Karawang Regency Government plans to repair 1,650 rutilahu scattered in all sub-districts around Karawang.
Acting PUPR Karawang Dedi Ahdiat said that this year the routine repair program was rolled out in all villages/kelurahan.
"So the program is that every village/kelurahan, there are four routines that are repaired. The budget has been prepared, almost IDR 1 billion," he said.
