Indonesia Masters 2022: Merah Putih Has 6 Representatives In The Quarter-finals

JAKARTA – The round of 16 of the Indonesia Masters 2022 badminton championship has been completed. Indonesia sent a total of six representatives to the last eight.

The second round of the BWF Super 500 level event will take place on Thursday, 9 June 2022. Of the 17 representatives who competed, only six made it to the quarter-finals.

Men's doubles and women's doubles dominated by sending two representatives each. Meanwhile, two other representatives from the men's singles and mixed doubles.

The two men's doubles who secured the last eight tickets were Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon.

Fajar/Rian qualified after defeating their compatriots Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Rambitan, while the Minions were in the last eight after defeating Thailand's Supak Jomkoh/Kittinupong Kedren

From the men's singles number, the only representative who qualified was Anthony Sinisuka Ginting. The bronze medalist of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics stopped the trip of Thailand's envoy, Sitthikom Thammasin.

However, Anthony's journey in the top eight will not be easy. The reason, he will meet the fifth seed from Malaysia Lee Zii Jia.

The two women's double tickets were presented by Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva and the couple Febby Valencia/Ribka Sugiarto.

Apriyani/Fadia prevented Vivian Hoo/Lim Chiew Sien (Malaysia) from taking on South Korea's second seed Lee So Hee/Shin Seung Jae.

Meanwhile, Febby/Ribka beat their compatriots Melani Mamahit/Tryola Nadia to meet Jeong Na Eun/Kim Hye Jeong.

Then the mixed doubles ticket was obtained by the pair Rinov Rivaldy / Pitha Haningtyas Mentari. Rinov/Pitha advanced to the last eight after overthrowing All England 2020 champion Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti.
