Body Of Emmeril Khan Mumtadz Found: Indonesian Embassy Ensures Fulfillment Of His Rights As A Muslim To Return To Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Bern, Switzerland will ensure that the repatriation of the body of Emmeril Khan Mumtadz, son of West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, takes place according to the process and hastened, including the fulfillment of his rights.

"The Indonesian Embassy in Bern ensures that all of Eril's rights as a Muslim are fulfilled according to Islamic law," said Indonesian Ambassador to Switzerland Muliaman D. Hadad in a virtual press statement with Elpi Nazmuzaman, representative of Ridwan Kamil's extended family, Thursday, June 9

"The Indonesian Embassy will also continue to accompany the repatriation process to return the bodies to the country." he continued.

Ambassador Muliaman said the family had received permission from the local court to receive Eril's body, in accordance with the provisions in force in the country.

"According to legal procedures in Switzerland, the police take care of all the documents for handing over the body from the police to the family. Two hours ago, the local court issued a permit to receive Eril's body," he said.

"On arrival in the country, the Directorate for Protection of Indonesian Citizens from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia will receive Eril's body and continue the next process," continued Ambassador Muliaman.

As previously reported, the Indonesian Ambassador to Switzerland Muliaman D. Hadad accompanied by Ridwan Kamil's family, Elpi Nazmuzaman conveyed that the body of Emmeril Khan Mumtadz, son of West Java Governor Ridwan, had been found.

"Yesterday, the Bern Canton Police met us at the Indonesian Embassy with the family to convey initial information, the discovery of Eril's suspected body at 6.50 am Swiss time or around 11.50 WIB. According to the procedure, forensics immediately identified and traced DNA," explained Ambassador Muliaman.

"On Thursday, June 9, Swiss time, the police confirmed that the DNA test result of the body found was that of Emmeril Khan Mumtadz," he said.

It is known that Eril, who was in Switzerland, was swept away by the current while swimming in the Aaree River in Bern, on Thursday, May 26. The weather conditions were clear at the time of the incident.
