8 People Become Suspects Of Fish Bombing In Simeulue Aceh
BANDA ACEH - Police in Simeulue, Aceh, have named eight suspects in the bombing of fish in the waters of the Mincau Island Sea, West Teupah District.
The Head of Public Relations of the Aceh Police, Kombes Winardy, said that apart from identifying the suspects, investigators also secured a number of pieces of evidence.
"A total of eight people have been named as suspects in the fish bombing. Investigators also confiscated 13 types of evidence," he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 9.
Three fishing boats suspected of using bombs were arrested in the waters of Simeulue Island by the local police.
"The fishing vessel is suspected of using the bomb from Sibolga, North Sumatra. Eight crew members were also arrested during the arrest," said Kombes Winardy.
There were also eight crew members with the initials SL (36), MSL (24), BA (53), TU (59), SA (40), RA (59), ER (40), and EL (24). They are all from Sibolga, North Sumatra.
Winardy said the arrest of the fishing bomber was started from information received by the Polairud Unit of the Simeulue Police. The information was conveyed by Panglima Laot Teupah Barat.
"In the information, it was conveyed that there were three fishing boats using bombs in the waters of Mincau Island, Simeulue Regency," he continued.
From this information, Simeulue Police Chief AKBP Jatmiko and Polairud Unit personnel investigated. The investigation was assisted by Panglima Laot and local fishermen.
From the results of the investigation, it was found that three boats caught fish using bombs. Officers chased the three boats and finally stopped the fishing boat.
"The three ships have now been secured and the crew members are being detained at the Simeulue Police Station for further legal proceedings," said Kombes Pol Winardy.
The perpetrators are suspected of violating Article 84 Paragraph (1) Paragraph (2) Law No. 31 of 2004 in conjunction with Article 85 in conjunction with Article 93 Paragraph (1) of Law No. 45 of 2009 concerning amendments to Law No. 31 of 2004 in conjunction with Article 98 of Law No. 11 of 2020 on Job Creation.
