VIDEO: World Oceans Day, 23 Tons Of Garbage Found In Mediterranean Sea

JAKARTA - Commemorating World Oceans Day, which falls every June 8, international marine conservation organizations carry out large-scale sea cleaning operations. The target is in the Mediterranean Sea, to be precise around Itacha Island, Greece. The results were astonishing. A total of 23 tonnes of trash were found from the two-week cleanup operation. This activity is carried out to continue to increase awareness of the world community about the importance of the sea and the effects of polluting the sea from waste and garbage.
