BNN Destroys More Than 308 Kg Of Methamphetamine, Saves 300 Thousand People
JAKARTA - The National Narcotics Agency destroyed 308,445.02 grams of methamphetamine and 29,482 Happy Five ecstasy pills. All of them are evidence from the six cases leading up to the commemoration of the International Anti-Narcotics Day (HANI).
"This morning, we will destroy evidence of class one narcotics, namely methamphetamine or methamphetamine weighing 308,445.02 grams, which means more than 308 kg. If we look at the number circulating in the community, we have saved more than 300,000 people will be exposed or use, if per person uses one gram. Then, Happy Five as many as 29,482 items," said Head of BNN RI Petrus Reinhard Golose at the North Jakarta City BNN Office, Thursday 9 June quoted from Antara.
Happy Five is an ecstasy pill that is most in demand by the audience of drug users. All of the evidence is the result of the disclosure of six narcotics crime cases handled by BNN from March to May 2022 with a total of 13 suspects.
The first case is a case that took place in the waters of Idi Rayeuk, East Aceh, on Sunday (13/3), at around 02.26 WIB. In this case, four perpetrators have been arrested with evidence of methamphetamine weighing 203,998 grams.
In the second case, officers confiscated 51,971 grams from the perpetrator with the initials RH alias Rahmat. The perpetrators and evidence were secured by officers while crossing the Banda Aceh-Medan Road, Bireuen Regency, Aceh, on Tuesday (15/3), at around 05.00 WIB. RH admitted that he was ordered by someone named Boy who is still on the wanted list (DPO).
The third case, the man with the initials ET was arrested by officers after he was caught carrying 1,075.5 grams of methamphetamine in North Jakarta, Sunday (20/4), at around 2:58 pm.
In the fourth case, BNN secured evidence from two locations, namely North Jakarta and South Tangerang, by securing evidence in the form of ready-to-distribute crystal methamphetamine weighing 300.26 grams which was confiscated by officers from three suspects on Monday (21/3).
Furthermore, the fifth case occurred in two areas of Medan, North Sumatra, Sunday (10/4). Officers managed to secure 43,077.6 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 29,482 Happy Five items, and two perpetrators.
Finally, in the sixth case, officers foiled the smuggling of more than 8,323 grams of crystal methamphetamine from Bireun, Aceh, which was to be sent to Palembang, South Sumatra, Thursday (19/5), and arrested two perpetrators.
"I need to emphasize to you brothers and sisters, that it is true that we are working with all stakeholders, but what we still hope for is community participation. How can the community come together to secure our environment, secure our area, secure our city from the influence of narcotics," said Golose.
