PKS Opens Coalition Opportunities With PKB, No Problem Cak Imin Candidate If Eligible
JAKARTA - Secretary General of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Aboe Bakar Alhabsyi, admitted that his party opened up opportunities for a coalition with the National Awakening Party (PKB). In fact, he said, his party had made a good emotional relationship with the party led by Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin.
"The PKS are all flat, including Cak Imin. We still make relationships, everything is in good context. We make good emotional relationships, development for development," Aboe said at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Wednesday, June 8.
Aboe also has no problem with PKB wanting to nominate Cak Imin as a presidential candidate, if it is worthy of being carried in the 2024 presidential election.
"If you want (candidate), Cak Imin is worthy, we'll see later, we'll talk. We have a digital footprint, this person is there, where is he going, who is he, how is he, what is his personality situation, it's right in front of our eyes ," he explained.
PKS, said Aboe, did not rule out the possibility of creating a new axis of coalition with PKB. Moreover, there is the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) which has been declared by the Golkar Party, PAN, and PPP.
Aboe admits that communication with PKB has intensified. Apart from Cak Imin, Aboe said, PKS is also in intense communication with the Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir and the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil.
"I know Erick is in America, I know Emil is in Switzerland. I know, I kept in touch, I also knew Cak Imin yesterday in Lampung. Why? As a result of communication," he said.
Aboe said that his party did not want polarization to become a problem again as happened in the 2019 presidential election. Where only two pairs of presidential candidates (candidates) are presented.
The member of Commission III of the DPR hopes that in the 2024 presidential election, there will be at least three pairs of candidates who will contest to lead Indonesia in the next five years after the Jokowi-Ma'ruf administration ends. Aboe also hoped that PKS would be given the opportunity to improvise and maintain the harmony of the Republic of Indonesia by choosing the best president.
"Therefore, we will not be blind to the passage of time behind yesterday," said Aboe.
Nevertheless, Aboe said, PKS is still open to any party that wants to invite a coalition for the 2024 General Election.
This includes joining Golkar, PAN and PPP in the United Indonesia Coalition. Or return to a coalition with the Gerindra Party.
"So later we will have an acceleration, which candidate is getting closer to us. PKS in principle does not want there to be too much friction, let's not make a fuss about identity politics, polarization, never mind," said Aboe.
When asked about the new axis with NasDem and Democrats, Aboe admitted that there was potential for PKS to join. Because, not only NasDem and Democrat officials held the meeting, his party also met with the two founders of the political parties.
"Do you think those who met NasDem met Democrats, only NasDem? We also met PKS. It's normal, we all wake up. I'm also proud of Sis Surya and Pak SBY," he said.
"Well, we'll see later, who knows at the last moment the meeting will find the best point, okay?," he said.
