Menseneg Allow The Manuscript Law Page Creation Work To Increase To 1,187 Pages
JAKARTA - Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Pratikno confirmed that the manuscript of the Omnibus Law on Job Creation had a page change again. When submitted by the DPR, the manuscript, which numbered 812 pages, has now reached 1,187 pages or an increase of 375 pages.
According to him, the addition of this page occurred because of the different formats made by the State Secretariat Ministry (Kemensetneg). As a result of this change in format, the number of pages of the law text was then increased.
"The same manuscript, which is formatted on a different paper size, with different margins and different fonts will produce a different number of pages," Pratikno said in a written statement to reporters, Thursday, October 22.
"Every law that will be signed by the president is done in the president's paper format with a standard size," he added.
Furthermore, Pratikno then asked the public no longer to question the difference in the number of pages. Because, this will create a misperception regarding the Job Creation Law. Besides, even if there were additional pages, he made sure there would be no change in substance.
Moreover, every technical improvement, such as typing errors to correcting spacing and formatting, was carried out according to the DPR's approval as evidenced by the initials from the Chairman of the DPR Legislation Body, Supratman Andi Agtas.
"The substance of the Work Creation Bill in the format prepared by the Ministry of State Secretariat (1,187 pages, red) is the same as the text submitted by the DPR to the President. The chairman of Baleg is ready to give an explanation," he said.
It is known that the change in this page was discovered after the government submitted the manuscript of the Job Creation Law to the Muhammadiyah Central Board (PP) on Wednesday, October 21 yesterday.
PP Muhammadiyah Secretary Abdul Mu'ti said the draft was submitted in person and totaled 1,187 pages.
"The 1,187 page manuscript. Earlier (the manuscript of the Job Creation Law, red) was handed over directly. The manuscript has not yet been signed by the president," Mu'ti told reporters, Wednesday, October 21.
Although there is no signature of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), however, on page one of this manuscript already uses an official letterhead.
When alluded to the difference in pages between the manuscripts submitted from the DPR, which amounted to 812 and the manuscripts that had just been received by PP Muhammadiyah, Mu'ti admitted that he did not know anything.
However, after receiving the manuscript, PP Muhammadiyah conducted a review of the Job Creation Law and submitted its notes to President Jokowi.
Previously, the manuscript of the Omnibus Law on Cipta Kerja was changed several times. At the beginning of the discussion, this manuscript totaled 1,208 pages. Furthermore, when it was passed on Monday, October 5, the manuscript was reduced to 905 pages.
Then after the validation the page change occurs again. There are at least two manuscripts with different number of pages, namely 1,052 pages and 1,035 pages.
Furthermore, when delivered from the DPR to President Jokowi, this manuscript changed back to 812 pages.
