Riza Patria Says Taufik's Dismissal From Gerindra Is Still A Recommendation From The Party's Honorary Council

JAKARTA - The Gerindra Party Honorary Council announced that a member of the DKI Jakarta DPRD from the Gerindra faction, Mohamad Taufik, was fired as a party cadre. Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council (DPD) of DKI Gerindra Party, Ahmad Riza Patria, said that the dismissal was still in the form of a recommendation.

"As far as I know, this is the result of the meeting of the Party's Honorary Council. The form is just a recommendation," said Riza at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, June 7.

The Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta emphasized that the Central Executive Board (DPP) of Gerindra still needed to follow up with an internal meeting to decide whether to issue a decision letter (SK) on the official dismissal or not.

"So, the DPP itself has not decided. Later, the DPP itself will have a meeting to address the recommendations of the Party Honorary Council," said Riza.

"Of course we hope that whatever policy the DPP takes will be a good policy for all. That is our hope in DKI Jakarta. We certainly hope that Gerindra in the future in Jakarta, especially at the national level, can be even better," he continued.

For information, the Party's Honorary Council officially dismissed M Taufik as a Gerindra Party cadre today, Tuesday, June 7th. The dismissal was the result of the Gerindra MKP trial which was held today.

Session leader Wihadi Wiyanto explained that there had been an accumulation of mistakes and violations that had been committed by Taufik as a cadre of the Gerindra Party, starting from the 2019 presidential election.

During his tenure as Chair of the Gerindra DPD DKI Jakarta, as well as at the DKI Jakarta DPRD from the Gerindra faction, Taufik is considered to have failed in carrying out the party's mandate related to the loss of votes for the Prabowo-Sandi pair in DKI Jakarta in the 2019 presidential election.

Then, Taufik is often mentioned in corruption cases (Tipikor) within the DKI government. In addition, until now the Gerindra DPD DKI Jakarta does not yet have a permanent office as the Gerindra Party DPD DPD in other areas.

Regarding the violation of AD/ART, Wihadi said, Taufik has also been proven to have committed acts that are contrary to and not in line with the direction of the Gerindra Party's policy. That is, he has violated his oath as a Gerindra Party cadre who decided to submit and obey the party's ideology and discipline and to maintain the honor, dignity and cohesiveness of the party.
