Pile Of Garbage At The Manggarai Sluice Sent By Depok That Was Carried Away By The Current In The Ciliwung River
JAKARTA - The volume of waste at the Manggarai sluice gate began to increase in line with the delivery of water from Depok, in the Ciliwung River, Menteng, Central Jakarta.
The head of the UPK for the Manggarai Water Agency, Farry Andhiko, said that the increase in the amount of waste reached 285 cubic meters since Tuesday, June 7, when heavy rains fell at 04.30 WIB.
"Our records are that as of 10:00, the amount of waste had risen to 285 cubic meters. All of this garbage arrived at the Manggarai sluice at 04.30," Farry told reporters, Tuesday, June 7.
Farry said the types of waste that filled the Manggarai floodgates were of various types. Starting from household waste, mineral water bottles, bamboo or wood carried by the river to the floodgates.
"The waste is usually like household waste at most. The waste we transport continues to be disposed of first to the pioneer transport, Pulogadung," he said.
Farry said, 15 UPK officers from the Water Agency carried out the waste transportation using trucks.
"Transportation uses 7 trucks to Pulogadung, then later the waste will be disposed of to Bantar Gebang, Bekasi," he said.
Garbage disposal using 7 trucks including 5 large trucks and 2 small trucks.
"Three units of heavy equipment were also deployed to pick up trash," he said.
