Targets New Electricity Installation Assistance To 80,000 Households, Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Budgets IDR 120 Billion
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) through the Director General of Electricity is targeting to distribute New Installed Electricity Assistance (BPBL) to 80 thousand households (RT). To realize this target, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources requires a budget of Rp. 120 billion.
"Rp60 billion is still being held by the Ministry of Finance's auto-blocking system mechanism, then another Rp60 billion for 40 thousand candidates to receive assistance," said Director General of Electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Rida Mulyana in a Hearing Meeting with Commission VII DPR RI, Monday, June 6.
Rida reported that, as of April 18, the Director General of Electricity and Electricity had received approximately 44,940 household data on prospective BPBL recipients from 33 members of Commission VII. Rida said that from the number of names received by the Director General of Electricity, as many as 8,068 RTs had met the requirements and had been determined by the Directorate General of Electricity while the other 1,065 RTs could not be processed due to double NIK.
"As of May 19, 35,807 RTs are still in the process of matching or verification by PT PLN to be further determined by the Directorate General of Electricity," added Rida.
He added that on May 23 the Directorate General of Electricity and PLN signed a letter of agreement for the implementation of BPBL in 2022.
To note, the BPBL program is the government's effort to help install new free electricity for households without electricity.
This program is also one of the efforts to equalize access to electricity throughout the archipelago to increase the electrification ratio by providing assistance with new installations of 450 VA electricity for poor households (RT) who do not have electricity registered in the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS).
