Head Of PUPR Kupang City Suspect In Extortion Case, Currently Detained By The NTT Prosecutor's Office In Class II B Rutan
KUPANG - Investigators from the East Nusa Tenggara Province High Prosecutor's Office have detained the Head of the Kupang City Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Benyamin Hengky Ndapamerang (BHN) who is a suspect in a criminal case of extortion.
"Investigators of the East Nusa Tenggara Provincial High Prosecutor's Office have today detained the suspect because according to the results of the investigation there was an element of a criminal act of extortion involving the suspect," said Head of the Legal Information and Public Relations Section of the East Nusa Tenggara Province High Prosecutor's Office, Abdul Hakim in Kupang, Antara, Friday, June 3rd.
The detention of the BHN suspect is carried out after the investigator has determined the person concerned as a suspect. He explained that before being arrested, the suspect underwent an examination by the Special Crime Investigation Unit investigator of the NTT High Prosecutor's Office for almost two hours.
According to him, the suspect is currently being held for 20 days at the Kupang Class II B Detention Center after investigators have obtained sufficient evidence to detain the suspect.
Investigators for the Corruption Crime of the NTT High Prosecutor's Office have just named one suspect in the extortion case that ensnared the Head of PUPR Kupang City.
"For now there is nothing else. Investigators have indeed examined a number of witnesses related to this extortion case," he said.
Kupang City PUPR Head Benyamin Hengky Ndapamerang was previously arrested in a hand arrest operation (OTT) carried out by a task force team from the NTT Province High Prosecutor's Office with evidence in the form of cash amounting to Rp. 15 million.
