ASN In Sintang, West Kalimantan Arrested For Sabu
PONTIANAK - The Drug Unit of the Sintang Police, West Kalimantan, arrested a state civil servant (ASN) in Melawi Regency with the initials AH (35) for being found in possession of 5.26 grams of methamphetamine.
"We arrested suspect AH for possessing the illicit goods (shabu)," said Head of Drugs at the Sintang Police Iptu Aritonang in a written statement quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 2.
The ASN, who served in a school in Melawi Regency, was arrested for possession of evidence of 5.26 grams of methamphetamine, he said.
The arrest of this ASN began with the investigation of the Narcotics Unit on Jalan YC Oevang Oeray, Baning Village, Sintang along with one unit of the two-wheeled vehicle used by the suspect.
Until now, he said, the police were still investigating the involvement of this ASN person as a dealer or only a user of illegal goods.
For his actions, the suspect is threatened with Article 114 paragraph 1 or Article 112 paragraph 1 of Law No. 35 concerning Narcotics with a maximum imprisonment of 20 years in prison.
In addition to arresting the ASN, the Sintang Police Narcotics Unit confiscated evidence of 5.26 grams of crystal methamphetamine, a cellphone, and a black Toyota Avanza.
He appealed to the public, especially state officials, not to get involved in illicit drug trafficking because it is very detrimental to the community.
