'In The Past, Jokowi Slandered, Accused Erick Thohir Of Corruption, Formula E's Turn For Poor Support Asked SOEs To Sponsor,' Chusnul Sarcastically Told Kadrun
JAKARTA - Social media activist Chusnul Chotimah responded to the criticism leveled at the SOE Minister Erick Thohir regarding the absence of a red-plated company sponsoring Formula E Jakarta.
According to him, the criticism mostly comes from groups that oppose and often insult President Jokowi. He called the group called kadrun.
"They have never recognized Jokowi as president, until now they want to overthrow Jokowi, insult and slander Jokowi," Chusnul said on his Twitter account, @ChusnulCh__, Tuesday, May 31.
Chusnul also said that the Kadrun group did not hesitate to accuse Erick of committing a criminal act of corruption. They even, he continued, accused Erick of bankrupting a number of state-owned companies.
"They also accused Mr. Erick Thohir of corruption and bankrupt BUMN," he said.
However, Chusnul wonders why the Kadrun group, which often insults Jokowi and Erick Thohir, are hyping up asking SOEs to sponsor Formula E Jakarta in the seconds before the electric car racing event is held.
"It was a tight turn of events and poor support, they shouted which state, which state, which is Erick. Rubbish!!" said Chusnul.
The Formula E event will take place at the Jakarta International E-Prix Cricuit (JIEC) Ancol on June 5. Until D-5, there has not been a single state-owned company that has funded the Jakarta Formula E event.
The new Formula E Jakarta is tied to seven sponsors from local private parties.
On the one hand, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee (OC) of Formula E Jakarta, Ahmad Sahroni, has submitted a proposal to Erick Thohir so that state-owned companies are willing to sponsor Formula E Jakarta.
Sahroni also admitted that he had met Erick Thohir directly after President Jokowi's review of the Formula E circuit some time ago.
"My team and I really hope that BUMN will provide sponsors," said Sahroni at a press conference in Ancol, North Jakarta, Thursday, May 19.
Sahroni sees that this state-owned company needs to participate in the financing of Formula E. This is because the electric car race is an international event broadcast in various countries.
Previously, political observer Rocky Gerung assessed that BUMN did not want to sponsor Formula E Jakarta for political reasons.
According to Rocky, it is irrational if there is a view that Formula E Jakarta is successful, making the electability of DKI Jakarta Governor Aies Baswedan increase, so that SOEs have not been involved in sponsoring the racing event.
"Want to separate politics from the reputation of the capital city, or just want to take advantage of the momentum to reduce Anies Baswedan's electability," said Rocky through his YouTube account, Rocky Gerung Official, Tuesday, May 31.
