Danger! Drug Dealers Have Methamphetamine Storage Tubes That Can't Be Detected By X-Ray Until Tracking Dogs

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) has uncovered the Warakas-Kampung Bahari drug network. His modus operandi is to smuggle methamphetamine into a metal tube that can't be X-Ray scanned.

Plt. Head of BNNP DKI Jakarta, Monang Sidabuke, in a press conference at the BNNP DKI Jakarta Office, Tuesday, May 31, explained that the 20 kilogram iron cylinder pipe was used as a container for methamphetamine which was sent from Sumatra to North Jakarta.

The DKI BNNP team also found four large iron pipes with holes and were sent from Sumatra.

"Our team initially found these two small canisters, capable of storing 1-1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine inside, then the other two larger canisters that could be loaded with two kilograms of methamphetamine. These cans have a lid that doesn't penetrate the X-Ray machine, and doesn't even smell like a dog. tracker," said Monang quoted from Antara.

Monang added that his party had tested and scanned the tube with an X-Ray machine and it turned out that no drugs were detected in it.

Monang also said that from this disclosure, the team succeeded in arresting the suspect ED on March 20, 2022 who acted as a dealer in Penjaringan, North Jakarta, then three other suspects gradually on March 21-24 2022 namely DN in Penjaringan, as well as two suspects DD and LK in Balaraja, Tangerang Regency.

From the suspect ED, the DKI BNNP Team managed to confiscate 1,075 grams of crystal methamphetamine, while from the suspect DD, 302 grams were confiscated.

Based on the suspect's statement, deliveries have been made several times through different courier services.

"After the narcotics arrive, they will break it down into several sizes and distribute the narcotics in the North Jakarta area, including supplying them to the Warakas and Kampung Bahari areas," he said.

Based on the initial packaging received from Sumatra, it is possible that the goods were supplied from an international drug network.

"From the results of investigators' development, the narcotics we seized were packaged as usual, green tea packaging which was indeed from the golden triangle (network) or 'golden tri angel'," said Jakarta BNNP Intelligence Section Head Faturrohman.
