Forms PMK Anticipation Team, Kendari Mayor Asks Residents To Calm: If Everyone Panic, The Situation Will Get More Runyam

KENDARI - Kendari is free from cases of mouth and nail disease (PMK). However, the local Agriculture Service formed a special team to anticipate the threat of PMK entering their area.

"So the follow-up is that I have made a team in the form of a decree for the outskirts that we have been working with the farmers to thoroughly check," said Head of the Kendari Agriculture Service Sahuriyanto in Kendari, Tuesday, May 31.

He conveyed that the formation of a special team was to anticipate the entry of PMK in the Kendari City area which is currently still relatively safe from the disease.

"So we already have anticipation, yesterday the Quarantine Center together checked several beef cattle that will be sold in the market. Thank God we are still safe," he said.

He explained that the team that had been formed was already running in supervising the suspected cows, if there were indications of FMD, they would not be allowed to enter the city area.

"For example, if he's from another area, we don't want to cancel him in the city, so it's still safe," he added.

Kendari Mayor Sulkarnain Kadir previously asked his residents not to panic excessively in dealing with the issue of the spread of FMD in livestock.

"Once again, don't panic in responding to the situation because we have learned from the cooking oil case that it is precisely what makes the situation worse, more complicated because of panic," said Sulkarnain.

The mayor reminded residents not to panic excessively in the face of a problem so that it does not become bigger and cloud the atmosphere.

"If we all panic, the situation will eventually get worse, instead of thinking about solutions but everything on securing ourselves, but that is natural as the nature of our divance as humans," he said.
