The Convoy For The Awakening Of The Khilafah Apparently The Routine Agenda Of The Muslim Khilafatul Group
JAKARTA - The action of the 'Khilafah Awakening' convoy which went viral on social media turned out to be a routine activity of the Khilafatul Muslimin group. The activity, known as motor syiar, is held every four months.
"This is a four-month routine," said Amir Khalifatul Muslimin for the Greater Jakarta Area, Muhammad Abudan, to VOI, Tuesday, May 31.
At first, the convoy activity was only a place for publication of recitation events organized by the Khilafatul Muslimin group.
The goal is to attract people's interest in participating in the recitation or da'wah events they organize.
"This started in 2017 or early 2018. Because in 2018 we held a worldwide Islamic caliphate event in Jakarta. The activities were centered in Jakarta at that time," he said.
"Well, in the context of the event, the pre-event will have discussion activities, there will be syiar motor activities," he continued.
Gradually, the activity became a mandatory event. Although, the main activity, namely, recitation or da'wah is no longer held.
"In the past, it was carried out for the publication of large activities. If now there are no big events, there are still syiar motor activities," said Muhammad.
Previously, a video of a convoy of motorcyclists carrying posters and Khilafatul Muslimin flags went viral on social media as they crossed the Cawang area, East Jakarta on Sunday, May 29. Based on the testimony of residents of the group of motorcyclists, it is known that they had distributed leaflets while crossing Jalan Raya Bogor, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta.
