Anambas Islands Still In COVID-19 Yellow Zone, Task Force Reports To Central Government
TANJUNGPINANG - The Riau Islands Province COVID-19 Task Force will report the status of the Anambas Islands Regency and Natuna Regency which are still in the yellow zone status or low risk of transmission. Spokesperson for the Riau Islands COVID-19 Handling Task Force Tjetjep Yudiana, in Tanjungpinang, Tuesday 31 March , said the determination of the risk status of COVID-19 transmission in districts and cities is the authority of the Central COVID-19 Handling Task Force. Therefore, the Riau Islands COVID-19 Handling Task Force will coordinate with the center so that Anambas and Lingga become green zones after more than a month of no active cases. Currently, only Lingga Regency has been designated as a green zone, even though Anambas previously had zero active cases of COVID-19 compared to Lingga. "After more than a week, Anambas has zero active cases, only Lingga, then Natuna. Actually, the three areas should be green zones," he said. The former Head of the Riau Islands Health Office was quoted by Antara. The cities of Batam, Tanjungpinang, Karimun and Bintan are still standing as ai yellow zone. Meanwhile, there are only three active cases of COVID-19 in Riau Islands, consisting of two Batam residents and one Tanjungpinang resident. "Hopefully there will be no additional new cases, and the three patients will recover soon," he said. Tjetjep also appealed to residents who meet the requirements for COVID-19 vaccination immediately to the nearest vaccination post or outlet. The COVID-19 vaccine is to increase people's immunity so residents should not delay vaccination. Until now, according to him, the achievement of the first dose of vaccination was 1,761,310 people or 97.7 percent, the second dose was 1,516,333 people or 84.11 people, and third dose or booster 606,486 or 44.16 percent.
