H-6 Formula E Jakarta: 2 Percent Of Race Preparation Left, The Roof Of The Audience Stands Has Fallen
JAKARTA - Formula E Jakarta will be held in six days. Preparations for the construction of all facilities at the race site are only 2 percent left. A number of audience ticket categories have also been sold out. However, there was an incident where the roof of the stands collapsed in strong winds.
The committee for the Jakarta Formula E racing event said that the preparation for the activities to be held on Saturday, June 4 had reached 98 percent. Project Management Office Formula E Farid Subkhan said, currently they are just doing the final finishing.
"If you say the target is 100 percent, it's already 100 percent. But overall it's actually 98 percent because only small things are left, such as the beautification of the Formula E track," said Farid in an online discussion program broadcast on YouTube, Saturday, May 28.
Farid then explained that the intended beautification was in the form of preparing entertainment and community activity units (UKM). This step is important because later there will be performers who will be prepared to entertain the audience and visitors to Ancol.
As for the preparation for the race, it is now 100 percent. On Saturday, May 28, the organizing committee held its last meeting with Formula E Operation (FEO).
"This is a meeting with the FEO team, Formula E Operation to ensure that everything is on track from AZ, be it infrastructure, licensing, tickets, ticket distribution, security, food and beverage, entertainment, artists and others," said Farid.
Furthermore, Farid said that a number of audience ticket categories had been sold out. Among them are the VIP, VVIP, and Grandstand categories in the circuit arena.
Meanwhile, tickets for the Circuit Festival category which are inside the circuit area and the Ancol Festival outside the circuit are still many that have not been purchased.
"There are only Circuit Festivals and Ancol Festivals that cannot access the circuit. So, all 20 thousand (audience tickets) on the circuit have been sold out, except for only a few festival (categories), which are standing," explained Farid.
In the midst of tight preparations for the race, an incident occurred when the roof of the spectator stands collapsed on the circuit arena. President Director of PT Jakpro and Managing Director of the Jakarta E-Prix 2022 Organizing Committee Widi Amanasto said the collapse of the roof of the spectator stands for the Grandstand category on Friday night, May 27, was caused by heavy rains that flushed the capital city.
"Only one roof at the Grandstand (which collapsed) because the construction has not been completed. Thank God there were no victims. The FEO team is working on this," said Widi when confirmed.
