Paul Waterpauw's Way Of Keeping The Taruna Kasuari Nusantara High School To Remain An Excellent School

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of West Papua Paulus Waterpauw reminded all parties to transparently select prospective students for the second batch of Taruna Kasuari Nusantara Manokwari high school students for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Paulus Waterpauw also reminded that there should be no bribery practices in the process.

"Children who enter this school are children who have high intelligence and there is no recommendation from anyone. If there is a recommendation, then this school is no longer a superior school," said Waterpauw in Manokwari, Saturday, May 28.

Admission of the first students of Taruna Kasuari Nusantara Manokwari High School in the 2021-2022 academic year, there are 74 students accepted.

As for the second batch this year, it is planned to recruit as many as 100 students.

The school students were guided by 20 teachers and 28 coaches and trainers from the Kasuari Military Command XXVIII.

Waterpauw fully supports the existence of SMA Taruna Kasuari Nusantara as a superior school in the West Papua region.

Various school and dormitory facilities will continue to be equipped so that students can focus on learning and later give pride to the people of West Papua.

"I saw yesterday they were still taking water from the well for bathing, we hope that in the future they can soon be equipped with supporting facilities for their studies," said Waterpauw, a high-ranking National Police Officer with the rank of Commissioner General of Police, quoted from Antara.

The curriculum applied at SMA Taruna Kasuari Nusantara Manokwari is exactly the same as the curriculum in all high schools, but there are two additional subjects, namely defending the country and local culture.

The establishment of the school, which is located at the Ministry of Forestry's Work Training Center (BLK) Complex on Jalan Yos Sudarso Sanggeng, Manokwari, West Papua, has inspired Taruna Nusantara High School in Magelang, Central Java.
