SD Shooting In Texas, Netflix Puts Stranger Things 4 Content Warning
JAKARTA - The Stranger Things 4 Volume 1 series is officially released today, Friday, 27 May. It is known that Netflix added a content warning in the series' premiere episode.
This relates to the shooting at an elementary school in Texas which resulted in 21 deaths, including two teachers and 19 children. This content warning applies to viewers in the United States only.
“We recorded a season of Stranger Things one year ago. But regarding the tragic school shooting in Texas, viewers may find the opening scene of the first episode sad," Netflix wrote at the beginning of the episode.
"We are deeply saddened by this unspeakable violence and our hearts go out to every family who is grieving a loved one," they said.
Last week, Netflix released an illustrated eight-minute teaser depicting the activities of the Hellfire Club. The scene featured massacres and children covered in blood.
The footage was released a week before the Texas SD shooting took place. That's why Netflix put a warning to viewers.
Stranger Things 4 Volume 1 tells the story of the Hawkins group's journey after fighting the Mind Flayer in Starcourt. As adults, they also face monsters much bigger than Upside Down.
The first part of Stranger Things 4 can be seen starting today on Netflix.
