Boasting Despite Just Losing To Dmitry Bivol, Canelo Alvarez: I'm Still The Best In The World
JAKARTA - Despite suffering the second defeat of his career against Russian champion Dmitry Bivol, Canelo Alvarez claims that he is still the best boxer in the world today.
Although his defeat sparked a lot of negative response, the Mexican made it clear that in his mind he was still clear about his talent.
"I don't know how they handle that kind of thing [ranking] but I still feel the best, in fact I'm still the best," Canelo said in an interview with Ole on Friday, 27 May.
"Tell me who are other fighters who are trying to gain weight and want to achieve other things (besides me)?"
"Nobody did that, I risked everything to keep making history, when I didn't have to take any risks, I've achieved a lot. So personally I still feel I'm the best fighter in the world."
Canelo's next fight is against Gennady Golovkin. The third duel in a trilogy of two boxers will take place on 17 September.
