Sahroni: We Invite All Party Chairs And Secretary Generals To Watch Formula E Jakarta

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Jakarta E-Prix 2022 Organizing Committee Ahmad Sahroni said that the organizers would invite all general chairmen of political parties to watch the Formula E race in Ancol on June 4.

"We invite all of the party chairman and secretary general," said Sahroni when met at the Jakarta International Velodrome, East Jakarta, Thursday, May 26.

In addition, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) as well as high-ranking state institutions will also receive invitations to attend the electric car race.

However, Sahroni has not been able to confirm who will open the Formula E racing event later. "Not confirmed yet, just wait," he said.

For information, Formula E Jakarta or Jakarta E-Prix will be held at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC) Ancol on Saturday, June 4. Currently, tickets to watch the electric car race have been sold.

Meanwhile, the Formula E racing car itself has begun to come to Indonesia gradually starting last Sunday, May 22. In total, 22 cars from 11 teams were sent to Indonesia.

Then, the Formula E drivers will arrive in Jakarta on Saturday, May 28. Before the race is held, the drivers will have a photo session with the organizers and the Formula E Operation at the National Monument (Monas).

Sahroni also said that they would not test the circuit that had been built in the eastern part of Ancol, but would immediately race on the day of the event on June 4.

Sahroni explained, Formula E is a racing event that usually uses city circuits or circuits on city streets. So that racers do not need to do a test before competing.

"They don't test the track, they just start playing. They've played in the simulator. Now, Formula E and Formula 1 drivers are different," said Sahroni.
