Ridwan Kamil Invites Unpad Alumni To Build West Java: Must Be A Champion Of Inner Birth
JAKARTA - The Governor of West Java (West Java) M. Ridwan Kamil or Kang Emil invited the Padjadjaran University Alumni Association (Ika Unpad) to build West Java Province as the foremost, best and inner champion.
"I hope that the cooperation between the West Java Provincial Government and the Unpad Alumni Association can synergize as soon as possible," said Kang Emil while giving a virtual speech at the Inauguration of the Management of the 2020-2024 Universitas Padjadjaran Alumni Association (Ika Unpad), quoted from Antara, Saturday October 17th.
The inauguration was held at Gedung Sate, Bandung by the Chairperson of Ika Unpad for the 2020-2024 period, Irawati Hermawan towards representatives of the board and alumni.
Meanwhile, the Chancellor of Padjadjaran University Prof. Dr. Hj Rina Indriastuti, through a zoom meeting, conveyed his congratulations and expressed his appreciation for the new management which has created a new spirit for Unpad because starting today, Unpad ' engagement ' with alumni to students can be plugged into poles.
The Chancellor also hopes that the alumni management can work together in handling COVID-19, cement reputation and academic recognition at the international level for the sake of " Ngapungkeun Unpad " and to make it easier for alumni to have careers at the national and international levels.
Meanwhile the Chairman of Ika Unpad Irawati Hermawan in his speech thanked the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil who had facilitated the inauguration of the Ika Unpad management for the 2020-2024 period.
Teh Ira, Irawati Hermawan's nickname, also conveyed an apology for alumni and administrators who could not attend in person at Gedung Sate, because the event had to prioritize and implement health protocols, in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic conditions.
As an alternative, alumni can watch it live through the Ika Unpad YouTube channel. According to Teh Ira, the inauguration of the Ika UNPAD management for the 2020-2024 period was held at Gedung Sate as a tribute to West Java as the province where Unpad was founded.
"Gedung Sate is an icon of West Java, which should be aligned with the spirit of the founders of Unpad," he said.
Furthermore, Teh Ira said that the management of Ika Unpad was inclusive by paying attention to the involvement of women and colleagues with special needs so that this management was open to alumni.
"In this stewardship, we are very open to alumni who wish to take part and with a membership of more than 180,000 people, we hope that Ika Unpad will not only become an asset for West Java but also provide benefits for the progress of the nation," said Ira.
