JAKARTA – The death of a senior Golkar figure Fahmi Idris has made Akbar Tanjung grieve. The chairman of the Golkar Party Advisory Council feels that he has lost the figure of Fahmi Idris as a comrade in arms.
"I have lost a great figure, we have struggled together since we were students," said Akbar at the Mampang Prapatan IV funeral home Number 20, South Jakarta, Sunday, May 22.
Akbar tells the story of the struggle together starting from being a student activist in the old order era. At that time they were members of the Indonesian Student Action Unit (KAMI) which urged the government to implement the three demands of the people (Tritura) in 1966.
Akbar said the struggle was continued to the political parties and government in the new order and reformation. Although he said, sometimes differences of opinion and views always occur. "But that doesn't take away our solidarity," he said as quoted by Antara.
Akbar admits that he is sincere about the departure of the deceased and forgives if there is an inappropriate relationship with each other. He also prayed for the late Fahmi Idris to be forgiven of all his sins and given the best place in the sight of Allah SWT.
The late Fahmi Idris was buried in Flat 048 block A1 Tanah Kusir Public Cemetery (TPU), South Jakarta, Sunday.
Before being taken to the Tanah Kusir TPU, Fahmi Idris' body was buried at the Mampang Prapatan IV funeral home Number 20, South Jakarta.
A number of political figures were present at the funeral home, namely the 10th and 12th Vice Presidents of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla, Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Bambang Soesatyo, Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Zulkifli Hasan, chairman of the Golkar Party Advisory Council Akbar Tanjung and Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Rahmat Gobel. .
Professor Fahmi Idris bin Idris Marah Bagindo died at around 10.00 WIB. The deceased was the 20th Indonesian Minister of Manpower and Transmigration under President BJ Habibie. Furthermore, the 22nd Indonesian Minister of Industry in the United Indonesia Cabinet (2004) under President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).
