Landslide In Cijeruk Bogor, Three People Found Dead, One Person Still Searched

BOGOR - The joint SAR team found three victims of landslides in Pasir Pogor Village, Cipelang Village, Cijeruk, Bogor Regency, West Java, in a dead condition. The victim was found on Saturday, May 21 evening to Sunday, May 22 in the morning.

"Only one more has not been found, the victim is on behalf of Eneng (24)," said the Young Disaster Management of the Bogor Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), M Adam in Bogor in Bogor, as reported by Antara, Sunday, May 22.

Three victims who were successfully evacuated died, namely Duduh (43) on Saturday night and Uum (70) and Nafis (4) on Sunday morning. All three were found in a pile of landslide material.

The joint SAR team temporarily stopped the search at 02.00 western Indonesia time, and resumed activities at 07.00 western Indonesia time, to evacuate the buried victims on behalf of Eneng (24).

The landslide, which occurred at around 17.00 western Indonesia time, on Saturday, May 21, knocked down two houses which resulted in nine people being injured and died. Five of the victims survived, namely Hilman, Fitri, Adit, Abay, and Ama.

The two residents' houses were buried by soil cliffs as high as about 10 meters which were landslides due to heavy rains.

The head of the Cigombong-Cijeruk Police, Kompol Sumijo, explained that the victims of the landslide were one family. Three victims who were successfully evacuated, namely father, son, and grandmother. "The first one found dead was the head of the family," said Sumijo.
