Lifter Rahmat Erwin Pockets Gold Medal And Breaks SEA Games Record
JAKARTA - Indonesian young lifter Rahmat Erwin Abdullah won a gold medal at the Hanoi Vietnam 2021 SEA Games. He also managed to break a record in the Southeast Asian region.
The 21-year-old athlete managed to become the best at 73 kg on Saturday, May 21.
He beat Thailand's Doungsri Anucha who won the silver medal and Malaysian lifter Muhammad Erry Hidayat for bronze.
Rahmat Erwin recorded a total lift of 345 kg. In the snatch he succeeded with 155 kg, while in the clean and jerk he succeeded with 190 kg.
This success also broke the record in his own name that he previously carved at Fililina 2019. At that time, Rahmat's heaviest force was in the snatch 145 kg, while in the clean and jeep 177 kg.
Apart from weightlifting, Indonesia has also added two gold medals per day from canoeing. The first medal came from the 500 meters kayak 4 women and another from the 500 meters kayak 4 men.
Thus, Indonesia has collected 53 gold medals in total so far. The number of medals made Indonesia stay in third place in the medal standings.
