Anies Baswedan Leads The Export Of 19 Tons Of Rice To Saudi Arabia From The Tjipinang Food Station Warehouse

JAKARTA - The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, led the initial export release of 19 tons of FS Yasamin rice to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from the PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya warehouse, on Friday 20 May.

The activity related to the export commodity trade cooperation between PT Food Station and PT AL Raqeeb Universal Group, is also a historic event.

"This is a historic event because for the first time we are exporting rice to Saudi Arabia," said Anies, in a written statement.

The release of the initial export of FS Yasamin rice as much as one 20-foot container unit to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, said Anies, making the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government proud. This is because PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya can realize the export of long grain rice with the IR-64 Ciherang variety while meeting Saudi Arabia's demand.

"Today is a sign that FS Yasamin's products can be accepted and absorbed in the international market, especially Saudi Arabia," Anies explained.

Even though it doesn't have a large enough land to harvest rice, interestingly Jakarta can supply rice needs for residents and distribute rice abroad.

"This is the momentum for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya to develop business in the international food market, especially Saudi Arabia and the Middle East," he said.

This happens because Jakarta is supplied by buffer zones to meet the rice needs of their citizens, especially areas that produce rice surpluses.

"God willing, this will be followed by more exports from us to various parts of the world," said Anies.

President Director of PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya Pamrihadi Wiraryo said the export of 19 tons of rice was carried out in a B to B collaboration with a company from Saudi Arabia called Al Raqeeb Universal Group.

"The delivery of the first FS Yasamin rice to Saudi Arabia takes the momentum of the National Awakening Day through a B to B collaboration with a Saudi Arabian company called Al Raqeeb Universal Group. The rice sent is Long Grain rice with the IR-64 Ciherang variety produced by the Provincial Government DKI Jakarta through the BUMD PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya with the brand FS-Yasamin with a 5 kg package of 19 tons," said Pamrihadi.

According to him, this rice export is an achievement to be proud of, because this DKI Jakarta Food BUMD has never done something similar before. Therefore, in the future, Food Station will try to make exports run sustainably.

"The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government hopes that in the future it can open up bigger market opportunities in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. In the future, we will also strive to develop exports in a sustainable manner with larger numbers and more diverse countries," said Pamrihadi.

For your information, Food Station has cultivated long grain rice with the IR-64 Ciherang variety which was planted in the Indramayu area of West Java and has been harvested in early 2022.
