The Presence Of A Hydrant Pump In Kupang Makes Residents No Need To Walk 2 Km To Get Clean Water
JAKARTA - KSAD General TNI Dudung Abdurachman inaugurated a hydrant pump in Raknamo Village, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara.
"The presence of a hydrant pump which was inaugurated will help and make it easier for the community to get clean water," said General Dudung, in Kupang, Thursday, May 19, quoted from Antara.
The Army Chief of Staff said that during a working visit to the Kupang Regency area to inaugurate the two Arhanud Battalions and the Armed Battalion, inspect the Moringa manufacturing plant by the TNI and also inaugurate the hydrant pump.
The four-star general said the need for water is very important for the community. That's why the Indonesian Army is trying to help bring water closer to the community.
For legal areas IX/Udayana starting from NTT, Bali and NTB itself, there are now approximately 220 hydrant pump points that have been installed. Now in 2022 there will be an additional 105 points so that a total of 325 hydrant pump points will be built.
Dudung said that water is a community need, which is very important, so that through the program that the TNI Manunggal Air Cleaner created, a hydrant pump was installed.
He received information from the public that in a number of areas in Indonesia, including in NTT, there are still problems with clean water. So before there was a hydrant pump, people had to walk a distance of about one to two kilometers to get clean water.
The Deputy Regent of Kupang, Jerry Manafe, admitted that before the hydrant pump, residents had to walk long distances to be able to carry water taken from springs.
This is also the reason why stunting cases in NTT, especially in Kupang district, are quite high.
"The TNI AD has built many hydrant pumps here. This is a good thing because it can help the people in Kupang Regency," said Jerry.
