Ajax Captain Daley Blind Wishes Erik Ten Hag Success At Manchester United

JAKARTA - Erik Ten Hag will soon begin his new adventure as Manchester United coach, replacing Ralf Rangnick in the new season of the Premier League competition. As the season drew to a close, Ajax Amsterdam captain Daley Blind gave Ten Hag his support and prayers for success at his new club.

Blind is a player who had uniformed with Manchester United in the 2014 to 2018 season, before finally joining Ten Hag at Ajax. Therefore, Blind understands how the dressing room and the atmosphere of the Premier League, especially at Old Trafford.

With that experience, Blind always prays for his former coach to be successful at his new club. Blind said, he also believes Ten Hag will do a good job as long as the club can be patient in giving Ten Hag a chance.

"Erik ten Hag is a great man. It's not an easy job, of course, but he doesn't run away from it either. He accepts the challenge," Blind said, as quoted by Tribalfootball.

In order to reap success at Old Trafford, Blind emphasized that Ten Hag's influence will also depend on the people behind him, especially the club board. He then gave an example of how Ten Hag got support from Edwin van der Sar and Marc Overmars as two of Ajax's top brass who continued to support Ten Hag no matter what happened.

"I hope he has time there, he is one of the best managers," he insisted.

According to Blind, Ten Hag's decision to take the job as Manchester United coach was a good choice to manage one of Europe's legendary teams. Because according to Blind, Ten Hag has a tactical playing approach which he trains in detail in training sessions.

On the other hand, it seems that MU still hasn't found the right coach since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement. Despite having made many changes, the presence of names after Sir Alex is still considered unable to lift MU's performance.

Unfavorable moments for Manchester United were so striking throughout this season. This can be seen from the failure of the Red Devils to penetrate the top four and at the same time fail to appear in the Champions League.
