Yeo Jin Goo Main Drama Link: Eat, Love, Kill, Combination Of Romantic Comedy And Mystery While Cooking
JAKARTA - South Korean actor Yeo Jin Goo is interested in playing in the new tvN Korean drama Link: Eat, Love, Kill because the chef character he plays has its own uniqueness and is more refreshing. This romance series is about the connectedness phenomenon between Eun Kye-hoon (played by Yeo) and Noh Da-hyun (played by Moon Ga-young). Both have feelings that are connected to share the same emotions.
Eun runs a restaurant business in the small town where her twin sister went missing about 20 years ago. Noh is an optimistic and kind woman who struggles to get a job.
Noh ends up working at Eun's restaurant, the moment leads to a strange phenomenon that occurs between them. Eun experiences a different emotion which turns out to be simultaneously triggered by Da-Hyun's feelings.
"I was interested in how the series combines interesting elements from different genres, such as romantic comedy, mystery, cooking, and drama," Yeo said in a written interview released by tvN, quoted by The Korea Times on Monday.
Yeo also said he was attracted to the concept of a series in which the characters are connected through emotions.
"The character suddenly connects with other people's feelings. And although the uniqueness about this person feels difficult to approach, it feels interesting," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 18.
According to Yeo, the phenomena depicted in "Link: Eat, Love, Kill" are an important part of Eun's character and the series itself. He said he and the director and writer discussed a lot about the story before filming.
"Throughout the story, the phenomenon is used to range from comedy to deep drama, so I try to portray my character flexibly," he said.
Although cooking is his hobby, Yeo shared that he also learned from real chefs in order to show professional cooking skills in the series.
“So I got help from real chefs to learn skills like using a knife, handling pans, and learning how I should act in the kitchen as well as in restaurants in general,” she says.
Link: Eat, Love, Kill is directed by Hong Jong-chan and written by Kwon Ki-young with Kwon Do-hwan. Hong is best known for his works including the series The Master's Sun (2013) and the Netflix series Juvenile Justice (2022). The Link: Eat, Love, Kill series is scheduled to premiere on June 6.
