Still A Pandemic, Pilakdes At OKU South Sumatra Will Implement Strict Prokes

OKU - The 2022 Simultaneous Village Head Elections (Pilkades) in Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) District will take place amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Head of the Village Community Empowerment Service (PMD) OKU emphasized that the Pilkades in his area would implement strict health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

"Because the situation is still a pandemic, so the Pilkades will be held while still implementing health protocols," said Ahmad in Baturaja, South Sumatra (Sumsel), quoted from Antara, Tuesday, May 17.

Simultaneous Pilkades in 2022 in OKU Regency were held in early October, with 57 villages being participated in a number of sub-districts.

"Currently we have prepared all the preparations ahead of the simultaneous Pilkades in October 2022," he added.

The implementation of health protocols has also been prepared at various polling stations (TPS) to prevent clusters of COVID-19 transmission. In the regulation, he added, his party limited the number of voters at polling stations so that there were no crowds that could potentially cause the spread of COVID-19.

"Each polling station is limited to a maximum of 500 voters," he continued.

He added, the restrictions were aimed at preventing crowds of people with voting rights at polling stations, so there was no potential for clusters to spread the COVID-19 virus.

When voting, he continued, people are also required to wear masks, wash their hands, and check their body temperature.

"In the next election, the number of voters in polling stations must be strictly limited so that there are no crowds," he said.
